This project is a response to the immigration system and acquiring a legal status in the USA, in the midst of the Trump administration. In my case, it took about two years, in which you are strongly advised to not leave the country. This advisement, in actuality, means you absolutely cannot leave American Borders. The weight of having to be separated from our families, and the very culture that makes us feel comfortable, is deeply heavy. This project deals with losing the basic right to move as you wish. It was specifically developed in the suburbs, a particularly American cultural phenomenon. It uses the text of traffic signs to enforce the unspoken, but real, legal signs imposed on me during the period this process.
